Official JMaddy Beer Pong Rules
By: JMaddy.com Crew
We here at JMaddy take our collegiate beer-drinking responsibilities seriously. We take our beer pong even more seriously. We believe that here in the Harrisonburg region, we have some of the finest players to ever bring 'em back. The trouble is, since we all come from different backgrounds and hometowns, our rules can be as different as the sizes of 7th grade boobies. As a beer pong enthusiast, I've seen it all from perfect games to 5-redemption marathons. I've learned a thing or two about a thing or two. These are the rules for JMaddy Beer Pong. (JMBP)
• Each team consists of two players. 2 beers shall be poured into 6 cups approximately 8 feet apart and approximately 2.5 feet tall according to the WSOBP, which is also the undisputed governing body of pong. • The challenging team shall take one shot at the beginning of the game, and the winning team takes two shots. If there is no returning champion, the two teams each choose one player to shoot for ball looking at the other team in the eyes, generally known as eye to eye. If neither player makes a cup, one team decides to take a shot for ball on a hit or miss, make the shot and your team has the ball. • If, during the course of the match, a team makes both shots in one turn, they have just completed a feat known as "bringing them back." Both players will receive another shot to reward their marksmanship. • When the last cup has been made, the seemingly defeated team will have an opportunity to redeem themselves. Each player now has the duty to shoot until they miss. This gives the team a chance to snatch victory from the perilous jaws of defeat. These shots are known as "redemptions." If the team hits the last cup twice or hits the last two cups consecutively it is known as a “black out” and there is no chance of redemption. • If you want to bounce shots in, you can. It counts for two cups but there is no bouncing off the wall, ceiling, body etc. (Some people allow this, but those are house rules). Defensive Technique • There is no blowing or fingering shots in the cup. If it’s going in be respectful. • After a ball has hit the table on a shot or bounced off a cup, the defending team can swat or catch the ball, preventing it from landing in their cup. Re-Racks • These can very from pitch to pitch, but the official JMaddy rules of beer pong allow for one re-rack per team each game. Shooters can elect to have their dispersed cups reorganized in a diamond, triangle, or straight line depending on if they have 4, 3, or 2 cups remaining to be made. If you choose to re-rack with 5 cups you are a moron and please exit internet explorer immediately. Stay tuned for an official JMaddy Beer Pong Tournament, which will crown the best players here in Harrisonburg. |
